Can Öncü will line up fifth on the grid for Race 1 of the FIM Supersport World Championship at Motorland Aragon on Saturday after narrowly missing out on a front row start.
The Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Racing rider set a time of 1’52.755 to secure fifth on the grid. Championship rival Stefano Manzi, who has a first shot at clinching the 2025 World Championship crown in Aragon this weekend, will start seventh for Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing with his time of 1’52.863.
Recently confirmed as remaining with the GMT94 Yamaha Team for the 2026 WorldSSP championship, Lucas Mahias and Roberto Garcia faced a difficult Superpole session and will start 11th and 12th respectively.
Deputising for the injured Aldi Satya Mahendra, Alberto Surra (Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Racing) will start 28th while the second Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing rider, Yuki Okamoto lines up 28th.
Lights go out for the first race of the weekend at 12:35 local time.
