“Serious sporting” – with the BMW F 800 S common sense takes on a really sporty flair.

The perfect motorcycle is an all-rounder which takes you through the city without hassle, gives you plenty of power for a weekend trip for two and is always available for a few sporty bends in your local neighbourhood too.

But an all-rounder needs rational benefits too: it has to be uncomplicated, reliable, low-maintenance and economical. You want it to be easy on the wallet and do the job free of stress. Innovative functions and reliable, intelligent solutions are what characterise a real all-rounder – that’s the BMW F 800 S.

We call the combination of pleasure and common sense “serious fun”. And that’s just what the BMW F 800 S stands for. The entirely newly developed, powerful 80 bhp 2-cylinder in-line engine indulges you with speed and pulling power, while maintaining a low level of fuel consumption and fulfilling the most stringent environmental standards. The quiet toothed belt drive not only ensures power transmission free of loss without any load alteration, it is also lower on maintenance than chain drive, has superior durability and is easy to exchange. The light chassis provides the appropriate basis for rapid mobility – handy in town, directionally stable on country roads. Optional ABS is available for the brakes. The sporty styled trim provides pleasing wind protection, the modern design of the fuel tank/seat line provides good integration of the rider in the machine, with excellent ergonomics. Cool, fresh colours and a striking design round off the “fun” side of things.

Find out for yourself what “serious fun” feels like. Visit your BMW Motorrad dealer for a test ride on the F 800 S. Enjoy!

The BMW F 800 S/ST is for real fun-seekers. Thanks to the fast acceleration of its parallel twins and maximum torque of 86 Nm at 5,800 rpm and 62.5 kW (85 bhp), this machine offers superb entertainment. And so that its proud owners don’t have to spend valuable time getting dirty working on the engine, the F 800 S/ST is equipped with a low-maintenance belt drive. Where curves are concerned, the general consensus is the more, the merrier – at least where the chassis of the BMW F 800 S/ST is concerned. Telescopic forks at the front, aluminium swinging arm at the rear, and away we go. The new F 800 boasts a sporty half fairing in the S version and a full fairing suitable for touring in the ST version. This machine demonstrates that you can only really have fun if the technology can be taken seriously.

Fitness on wheels.

Motorcycling is sport. An unbeatable power-to-weight ratio, breathtaking acceleration and braking rates, feeling the dynamics of the bike against the wind with your whole body, the forward tilt of your torso, active control of the movement on two wheels: that’s what the sports motorcyclist loves. Going to the limits, collecting credits in a fair fight – maybe at a little club racing event or in a tough training session. Does the word “curbs” mean anything to you? If so, be sure to read on, because this is all about the sports machines which don’t just work on the race track but before and after as well. After all, BMW Motorrad sports bikes are some of the safest machines around. Find out for yourself!

New in spring for the BMW F 800 models.
Special equipment and color.

Munich. By popular request customers can now order a suspension lowering kit for the F 800 S and F 800 ST models at their authorized BMW Motorrad dealer. The standard seat height is reduced by 60 mm (approximately 2.4 inches) through this factory installed special equipment feature. This is achieved by using the available lower seat; 30 mm (approximately 1.2 inches) lower than the standard seat, in combination with a shorter spring strut; 30 mm (approximately 1.2 inches) lower than the standard suspension.

The price of the suspension lowering kit for the US market will be announced shortly. This special equipment feature cannot be combined with the main (center) stand.

New color for the F 800 S
For the F 800 S sports bike in 2007, BMW Motorrad now offers a new colour called “Lahar grey metallic”. This is the name of a volcanic mud stream which can reach speeds of up to 300 km/h. The best motivation for sporty riding …
