“The second round of the AMA National Hare and Hound series took place this weekend in Lovelock, Nevada, which is close to home for me. With a lot of snow in the week leading up to the race, we weren’t sure how the conditions were going to be, but for the most part, it turned out epic! I got off to a decent start, but after being tagged by another rider, I was shuffled back a few positions and decided to take my time moving forward since I knew we had a long 150 miles ahead and dust wouldn’t be a factor. I settled into 2nd and tried to conserve energy, as I knew the race would come down to sprinting the last 40 miles or so. After the final pit, I pushed hard and reeled the leader back in, but we basically spent the whole last lap yoyoing back and forth, and I was never able to get close enough to try for a pass. Overall, a solid day even though we came up just a bit short.”
