Solid start for Aprilia Racing in the USA

MARCO BEZZECCHI AND JORGE MARTÍN GO STRAIGHT THROUGH TO Q2
The first day of practice on the Circuit of The Americas ended with positive feedback for Aprilia Racing. Marco Bezzecchi began his Friday with the ninth best time in FP1, then improving in the practice session with the fourth best time to guarantee a spot directly in Q2. It was a positive day for Jorge Martín as well. Third in FP1, he then finished the practice session seventh, despite a crash with no consequences in the opening stages, also going straight through to Q2.

Yet another noteworthy aspect is the performance byTrackhouse MotoGP Team’s Ai Ogura, second in the practice session and straight through to Q2.

It wasn’t a bad Friday. Let’s just say that after the practice session in Brazil, it wasn’t hard to do better. I was missing a little something in the time attack, but in spite of that, it was a positive Friday. I have a good race pace and the feelings are good, so we’ll keep working in view of Saturday.
It’s always important to be in the top ten on Friday. I felt really good in the morning, whereas in the afternoon, I was unable to express my full potential with the soft tyre. In the end, though, I improved lap by lap, and towards the end of the session I was able to do a good lap and go straight through to Q2.
A positive start, with three Aprilias already straight through to Q2. We obviously need to work out a few details, but having three bikes in Q2 allows us to have a lot of data to analyse and to share in order to be as prepared as possible ahead of the qualifiers.
