F.C.C. TSR Honda France shows strong pace and podium potential before early retirement at 8 Hours of Spa Motos

F.C.C. TSR Honda France delivered a strong performance at the 8 Hours of Spa Motos, showing race-winning pace and fighting at the front throughout the first half of the race before technical issues forced the team to retire.

After securing third place on the grid in qualifying, the team immediately confirmed its competitiveness aboard the Honda CBR1000RR‑R Fireblade SP. Corentin Perolari made an excellent start, moving into second place on the opening lap before taking the lead and setting the pace during the early stages of the race.

Following the first pit stop, Alan Techer rejoined in seventh position but quickly fought his way back to second place, keeping the Honda #5 firmly in the fight for a podium finish.

After two hours of racing, changing weather conditions began to make the race more difficult. Light rain appeared around the circuit and Techer experienced an issue that affected the bike’s performance. Rather than taking unnecessary risks, the French rider managed the situation carefully and maintained fourth position until the next scheduled pit stop.

John McPhee then took over the Honda #5 as further rain arrived, creating challenging conditions. Just over three hours into the race, another shower forced the team to switch to wet tyres before Perolari handed the bike back to Techer, who rejoined in fourth position. As the track quickly dried, another stop was required to return to slick tyres.

Despite the changing conditions and the additional pit stops, F.C.C. TSR Honda France remained firmly in the battle for the podium and continued pushing hard to stay with the leading group, even setting a new race lap record of 2’19.750.

However, around the halfway point of the race, Techer experienced another issue with the bike and was forced to return to the pits. After several minutes in the box, McPhee returned to the track but was only able to complete one lap before another problem forced the bike back into the pits. Following further checks by the crew, the team was ultimately forced to bring its race to an early end.

The retirement was a disappointing end to what had been a highly competitive weekend, but F.C.C. TSR Honda France leaves Spa encouraged by its pace and performance. The team now turns its attention to Suzuka 8 Hours with confidence, aiming to return to the front and fight for podiums and victories during the second half of the season.

TATI Team AVA6 Racing delivered a solid race with the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP #4.

Starting from eighth on the grid, the team steadily climbed to sixth position as the second hour began.

By the halfway point, the #4 Honda had moved up to fourth place, thanks to consistent lap times and efficient pit work from the trio of Hugo Clère, Mike Di Meglio and Isaac Viñales. The team stayed fully focused throughout the race, even after limited preparation in changing conditions on Thursday, using the race itself to build rhythm and improve performance step by step.

With strong race pace and solid execution both on track and in the pits, the #4 Honda crossed the finish line in fifth position at the end of the 8-hour race.

The result marks a positive step forward for the team, highlighting a solid performance as a privateer entry and a strong base of work to build on for the remainder of the season.

In the Superstock category, Wójcik Racing Team #77 SST secured a well‑earned podium with the Honda CBR1000RR‑R Fireblade SP. Starting 18th overall and sixth in class, the team delivered a strong and consistent performance despite difficult and constantly changing weather conditions.

Two hours before the finish, the Honda #77 had already climbed to second place, and as the race entered its decisive phase, riders Oscar Gutiérrez, Jordi Torres and Mateusz Molik kept themselves firmly in the podium fight, showing solid pace and impressive consistency across all stints.

The third round of the 2026 FIM EWC season will take place at the Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan from 3–5 July.
