DELIVERS WITHOUT COMPROMISE.

2019 Honda NC750X:

Our 2019 NC750X is a perfect example of what we do best: use technology and fresh thinking to create a bike for the way people really ride.

And this year’s NC750X is better than ever, with a 745cc engine and our Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). This allows the parallel-twin design to deliver power in an intuitive and easy-to-use way. The NC750X also has class-leading innovations, like integrated storage and available Honda Automatic DCT transmission.

On weekdays, it’s an awesome commuter. On weekends, it’s ready to explore in the country. And it loves canyons every day of the week.

Everyone is looking for one bike that does it all. The NC750X delivers without compromise.

Honda’s midsize adventure-touring machine—long heralded as the ultimate commuting motorcycle—boasts sporty performance combined with practical, utilitarian attributes. The NC750X has a 745cc engine with two-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and an available automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).

Since it was originally introduced in 2012 as a 700, the model has been noted for its “crossover” styling; comfortable, upright riding position; long-travel suspension and innovative, under-seat fuel cell, with a faux tank housing a storage compartment. The bike’s NC moniker stands for New Concept, and its torque-laden parallel-twin engine borrows from Honda’s automotive technology, with a long-stroke design leading to a low rev ceiling and excellent fuel efficiency.

745cc of Liquid-Cooled Possibilities.

The NC750X’s 745cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine produces enough torque and power to guzzle up adventure. But it can sip, too—both the standard and DCT transmission versions provide stellar fuel efficiency.

The integrated storage compartment holds a full 22 liters. And it features a storage hook and utility rail, because we all ride with more than just a cell phone and a credit card.

2019 Honda NC750X Totalmotorcycle.com Key Features

DESIGN
Much of the motorcycle-riding experience comes down to feeling, and the design of the NC750X was designed to be fun yet convenient. From the front, the machine has a bold, adventurous identity, with an LED headlight and running lights forming a unique impression. For 2019, the model is offered in a striking Ultra Blue Metallic, with dark-gray side panels.

The tall windscreen guides airflow around the rider’s upper body, and a central duct equalizes pressure, while slits on the upper left and right sides reduce wind noise. The side cowls and side covers create muscular lines, and the slender seat unit and clear-smoke LED taillight are underlined in a minimal manner by the exhaust muffler, further emphasizing the mass-forward stance.

Volume of the storage compartment is 22 liters (enough to hold a full-size helmet), and its lid features external rails that are useful for mounting a tank bag. Inside the lid are four hooks that allow rubber straps to assist in organizing contents.

Attractive instruments use a negative LCD display, and information includes odometer, trip meter, gear position, fuel economy and consumption gauges, (optional) heated grip temperature, and three-stage SPORT mode for the DCT model.

The color of the rev-counter bar display can be changed by the rider; a total of nine options are available. It is also possible to have colors change according to gear selected, rpm range, or (for the DCT version) riding mode.

ECO mode turns the display to light blue if riding with good fuel efficiency, and green if riding even more economically. SHIFT mode sees the color change to orange if engine rpm exceeds a level pre-set by the rider.

ENGINE
The design of the NC750X’s liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve parallel-twin-cylinder engine ensures punchy performance in the low-to-mid rpm range. Its relatively long-stroke architecture and specially shaped combustion chambers combine with the high-inertial-mass crankshaft to produce large amounts of effortless torque from very low rpm. The engine’s forward-leaning position lowers the center of gravity for optimum handling.

The NC750X has Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), featuring two levels. Level 1 allows some rear-wheel spin—on gravel or dirt for instance—while Level 2 reduces wheel spin, particularly on slippery roads. Level 2 is the default from “ignition on,” and a push of the button on the left side of the handlebar changes the setting to Level 1. Pushing and holding the button turns HSTC off.

Twin balancers counteract vibration from higher rpm inertia, refining the engine yet still allowing the distinct “throb” delivered by its 270° firing order, and bore and stroke are set at 80mm x 77mm. By minimizing the number of parts, the engine is kept light, efficient, and reliable, as components are made to do more than one job where possible; for example, the camshaft drives the water pump, while one of the balancer shafts drives the oil pump.

A lightweight, pentagon-shaped muffler uses two chambers joined by a hole-punched link pipe, which works with a final resonator chamber to create a deeply distinctive sound and exhaust pulse. The built-in catalyzer has a two-layer structure to help reduce emissions.

CHASSIS
The NC750X’s rugged steel diamond frame has the high levels of rigidity required for agile, responsive handling in a variety of conditions. It’s also ideal where space is at a premium, since it takes up very little volume but offers superb riding dynamics.

Rake is set at 27°, with trail of 110mm, wheelbase of 60.6 inches, and front/rear weight distribution of 48% / 52%. Curb weight is 474 pounds (500 pounds DCT), and seat height is 32.7 inches. The riding position is upright and neutral, with a high viewpoint. Another advantage of this adventure-style riding position is great low-speed control; combined with the low center of gravity and generous steering lock, the result is exceptional low-speed handling and balance.

The 41mm telescopic Showa fork features 6.0 inches of travel, and the single shock features a spring-preload adjuster system and has 5.9 inches of travel. It operates through a Pro-Link® configuration that offers an optimized balance of a soft initial stroke for dealing with low-speed bumps, together with excellent control.

Up front, the 320mm wave rotor and two-piston brake caliper deliver plenty of easy-to-modulate stopping power, complemented by the rear 240mm wave rotor and single-piston caliper. The DCT model comes with lightweight two-channel ABS that provides powerful and confident braking even on slippery or wet road surfaces.

Cast-aluminum front and rear wheels are black for 2019, and the L-shaped rim valves simplify the process of checking and adjusting air pressure.

  • Meets current EPA and CARB standards
  • California version differs slightly due to emissions equipment

2019 Honda NC750X Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

LCD Instrument Panel

Full digital LCD instrumentation includes digital speedometer, digital bar-type tachometer, clock, low-fuel gauge and two trip meters. Plus, the tach bar graph changes color according to fuel consumption, RPM, gear position and more.

Low-Profile Windscreen

The NC750X offers just the right amount of bodywork—enough to offer good wind protection, but not so much that the bike feels heavy or wide.

41mm Fork

With 5.4 inches of travel, the NC750X strikes a perfect balance between a long-distance and a short-hop street machine. This gives it a wide range of capability, good handling and helps inspire confidence.

Cast Aluminum 17-Inch Wheels

The 17-inch wheels give you a wide choice of premium tires to choose from and really help the NC750X offer responsive handling in turns. The cast wheels are light and strong too.

Disc Brakes with Available Combined ABS

Single front and rear disc brakes give the NC750X great stopping power. The DCT model comes with ABS brakes that are linked rear-to-front for added stopping power, even under challenging conditions.

Steel Truss Frame

Light, strong and with just the right amount of stiffness, the NC750X’s rigid and compact chassis is the foundation for precise handling.

Electronic Fuel Injection

Carbureted engines can be fussy when it comes to feeding them fuel. Not the NC750X. Electronic Fuel Injection means easy start-ups on cold mornings and flawless running even at high elevations.

745cc Parallel-Twin Engine

With its cylinders tipped 62° forward for lower center of gravity, the NC750X’s engine is a big step forward in modern powerplant design. The two-cylinder format produces tons of low- and mid-range torque, and the 270°-phase crank and uniaxial primary balancer make it smooth, too.

Integrated Storage Compartment

The NC750X offers a 22-liter utility compartment that’s big enough to hold most full-face helmets and then some. Safe, secure and convenient, you’ll use it every time you ride.

Pro-Link HMAS Rear Suspension

Offering 5.9 inches of rear-wheel travel and teamed with a Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) rear shock, the NC750X eats up the gnarliest pavement while giving you a smooth ride.

Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)

With Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) you can choose a level which allows some rear-wheel spin—on gravel or dirt for instance—or pick a second level which reduces wheel spin, particularly on slippery roads. It’s a great feature that helps make the NC750X even more versatile.

Under-Seat Fuel Tank

The 3.7-gallon under-seat fuel tank centralizes mass and enhances overall handling. Locating the tank and filler underneath the passenger seat allows for innovative centralized storage between the front of the seat and the handlebar.
