New Compact Lightweight Clutch
The all-new clutch design replaces the coil springs of the previous model with a new disc spring and integrates primary gear and basket into a single steel unit. The result is a more compact, lightweight and durable assembly which yields smooth engagement and excellent feel. Premium clutch cover employs a stylish geometric design that helps minimize scratching and lends a bold look.
New Wide-Ratio Five-Speed Transmission
All new tri-shaft transmission layout vertically stacks the transmission shafts, raising the center shaft and forming a triangle between the crank, drive shaft and main shaft for a lighter, more compact transmission. Gear ratios are optimized for cross country conditions.
New Yamaha Power Tuner App
Like having factory team support in your pocket, Yamaha’s groundbreaking Power Tuner App is revised to be even more user-friendly. Revised Suspension with Toolless Fork Adjustment
The YZ450FX’s front fork now features a new hand operated compression clicker for simple, toolless adjustments. Front fork and rear shock settings are optimized for cross country competition. A 10mm lower seat height than the YZ450F provides a lower center of gravity for improved low-speed maneuverability.
Slimmer Body & Improved Ergos
A new slimmer, flatter and more compact body eases rider movement for improved control, including more seamless, rounded features from seat edges and side covers to a more narrow fuel tank and front shroud. The rider triangle is also improved with increased legroom between the seat and footpegs, and revised handlebar position for a more natural posture and enhanced rider comfort.

Striking the perfect balance of precise cornering performance and handling stability, the redesigned aluminum bilateral beam frame consists of more than 10 different aluminum components welded together with YZ450FX-specific XC-tuned engine mounts. The result is a better handling machine with lighter feel, improved bump absorption and increased traction, allowing the rider to enter corners with greater confidence and more line choices.
Class-Leading Suspension
The industry-leading, fully adjustable KYB® coil spring-type fork with speed-sensitive damping provides exceptional balance between handling and bump absorption, and now features a new hand operated compression clicker for toolless adjustments. The linkage type rear suspension uses a KYB® shock with specially-tuned damping characteristics to match the YZ450FX chassis. New settings also result in a 10mm lower seat height than the YZ450F and lower center of gravity for excellent cornering performance and rider comfort in technical sections.
Cross Country Wheels & Tires
The YZ450FX’s 18-inch rear wheel comes laced with a three-cross-spoke pattern for improved impact absorption and rider feel. Wheels come wrapped in Dunlop® Geomax MX33 tires for an ideal balance of traction and durability.

A large 270mm front brake disc and 240mm rear are coupled with high performance Nissin caliper and aggressive pad material to provide exceptional stopping power and control.

Advanced Fuel Injection
The engine breathes through a 44mm Mikuni® throttle body fed by a high-pressure electric pump to ensure optimum fuel atomization and power for a wide range of altitudes, weather and riding conditions.
All-New 450cc Four-Stroke Engine
The new 2024 YZ450FX’s advanced four-stroke engine has been completely redesigned to be lighter, more compact, higher revving and more powerful across the entire rev range. Among the changes are new exhaust and intake port shapes, larger diameter titanium intake valves, new piston, cylinder, crankshaft and balancer assembly, and a switch from wet sump to dry sump lubrication. Additionally, ECU settings are tailored to suit the specific needs of cross country and enduro competition.
Electric Starter System
The YZ450FX features a compact electric starter system to minimize restart delays in competition and add convenience everywhere else. Powered by a high-capacity and lightweight four-cell lithium-ion battery, the system adds consistent performance and minimal weight.

The newest version of the app has been revised to be more user-friendly, with new features include an intuitive “Simple Tuning” slide bar for engine mapping, Traction Control tuning, lap timer, and helpful engine and suspension tuning guides.
On-The-Fly Engine Mapping Selection
New, lightweight handlebar-mounted switchgear allows the rider to quickly select between preloaded engine maps—loaded and configured in the Power Tuner App—to adjust for changing riding conditions. Map 1 provides more responsive, quicker revving engine characteristics while Map 2 provides smoother response and slower revving characteristics for when traction is limited.
