Integrated riding modes

Both TRACER 9 models benefit from five Ride Modes (three preset and two customizable) which are fully integrated with the six-axis IMU and other technologies, such as the comprehensive suite of lean-sensitive rider aids, and Cruise Control.

These Ride Modes, ‘Sport’, ‘Street’, ‘Rain’, ‘Custom 1’ and ‘Custom 2’ can be toggled on the fly.

Third Generation Quickshifter
Yamaha’s third generation quickshifter enables quick, clutchless up and down gear changes during both acceleration and deceleration allowing a wider range of functionality and more flexibility in your riding style. It also works in conjunction with the new Adaptive Cruise Control, allowing riders to change gears without disengaging Cruise Control.
More comfortable ergonomics

The new, lighter subframe is 50mm longer than the item found on the previous generation TRACER 9, allowing for a more generous pillion seat area. The rider seat has been reshaped and is flatter, with more padding. The stand-over distance has been reduced through the slimming and reshaping of the front area of the saddle, meaning a more reassured and confidence inspiring experience, especially for shorter riders.

The seat has two height settings, allowing the saddle to be raised by 15mm, without the need for any tools, while a heated seat is available as an option from the Yamaha Genuine Accessories range.

A new era of shifting with Y-AMT (optional)
A new feature is the Emergency Stop Signal function. When sudden braking is detected, all four LED indicators automatically flash at high speed to warn surrounding road users that an emergency stop is in progress, helping alert others of rapid changes to the bike’s speed.

High specification suspension with revised settings
Highly specified 41mm KYB front forks are fully adjustable, as is the KYB rear shock absorber. With enough adjustment to cater for spirited sporting rides and two-up touring, the suspension is as adaptable as you would expect from a class-leading sports tourer. The rear link has also been modified, improving rear traction and load distribution while cornering.

Refined bodywork for added comfort
TRACER 9’s bodywork has been wind tunnel developed and comprehensively tested in the real world. The bodywork offers excellent weather protection, with testers reporting less fatigue on longer journeys. Despite its fresh look, it retains traditional TRACER design elements, notably the distinctive ‘arrow head’ look. The result is a great long-distance companion with a premium feel and improved comfort for rider and pillion.

Award-winning CP3 platform
Yamaha’s award-winning combination of the torquey 890cc CP3 engine and Deltabox-style aluminum chassis provide the perfect confidence inspiring sports touring platform. Further refined with bespoke suspension and chassis setup, the package is optimized with lightweight spinforged wheels and Bridgestone T32 tyres to create a light and agile riding experience.

Customisable ride modes
TRACER 9 offers a highly customizable riding experience thanks to Yamaha Ride Control (YRC). This allows the rider to tailor their ride to match conditions and preferences. Three factory settings come preloaded (SPORT, STREET and RAIN) while two custom maps can be programmed through the dashboard menu – helping the rider choose their preferred engine power characteristics and electronic interventions.

Powerful twin LED cornering headlights
Increasing night time riding confidence, the TRACER 9 comes equipped with powerful twin LED headlights with a powerful and precise beam. These high/low function units combine with standard LED cornering lights, which detect lean angle and illuminate a wider area of the road when banked over at 7° or more.

More comfortable ergonomics for rider and pillion
The TRACER 9 features an extended subframe to increase comfort by providing more space for both the rider and their passenger. This is combined with seat pads which are flatter and more generously padded to give a more sporting feel, which inspires confidence while hanging off the bike through corners. The TRACER 9 is more accessible at standstill too, with the saddle shaped to be slimmer at the standover point, while the handlebar position has a dual benefit of creating a more relaxed posture for increased comfort, particularly on longer journeys, while decreasing the turning circle to a very compact 2.9m.

7“ TFT dashboard with USB-C and integrated storage
The 7″ TFT dashboard has three distinctive themes, from a stripped back layout for sports riding to an information packed touring option. Intuitive switchgear and five way joystick provides easy navigation. A USB-C charging port comes as standard, while an integrated storage area sits to the right of the cockpit.

Ten-way adjustable windscreen for improved wind protection
The TRACER 9 offers improved wind protection thanks to a sculpted front fairing and windscreen. Retaining a slim frontal area, the wind tunnel developed arrangement reduces buffeting to ensure both rider and pillion arrive at their destination fresher than ever. The windscreen offers 10 steps of adjustment, across a range of 50mm, allowing the rider to fine tune the aerodynamics to meet their own specific preferences.

Cruise control and speed limiter
Confirming the TRACER 9’s mile munching capabilities, the standard fitment of cruise control allows the rider to cruise the highways in comfort. Engageable from third gear, the cruise control can be adjusted in increments of 1km/h or 10km/h. A speed limiter function is also fitted, for times when the rider just doesn’t want to creep over the limit!

High specification suspension and settings
Highly specified 41mm KYB front forks are fully adjustable, as is the KYB rear shock absorber. With enough adjustment to cater for spirited sporting rides and two-up touring, the suspension is as adaptable as you would expect from a class-leading sports tourer. The rear link is designed to improve rear traction and load distribution while cornering.

Emergency stop signal
The Emergency Stop Signal function automatically responds when sudden braking is detected. All four LED indicators flash at high speed to warn surrounding road users that an emergency stop is in progress, helping alert others of rapid changes to the bike’s speed.

2027 Yamaha Tracer 9 Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

ENGINE

  • Powerful 890cc Liquid-Cooled Three-Cylinder DOHC Fuel-Injected Engine
    • The Tracer 9 features the world-renowned crossplane crankshaft 890cc CP3 engine. With a bore × stroke of 78 mm × 62.1 mm and an 11.5:1 compression ratio, it provides the type of broad, linear torque and thrilling power delivery character that’s perfect for Sport Touring
  • Lightweight Forged Pistons
    • Superior quality lightweight forged pistons allow for smooth, high-revving power.
  • Offset & Direct-Plated Cylinders
    • The CP3 engine mounts its three cylinder bores forward, towards the exhaust side. This offset reduces the piston to cylinder wall friction, creating more power and improved fuel economy while the direct-plated ceramic-composite cylinder bores provide excellent heat dissipation and reduced friction.
  • Assist & Slipper Clutch
    • The Tracer 9 features an Assist and Slipper (A&S) clutch for a lighter clutch lever pull and smoother chassis behavior during downshifts.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

  • Lightweight CF aluminum die-cast frame
    • To achieve both sporty performance and excellent riding comfort, the Tracer 9 GT+ adopts a lightweight aluminum frame with model-specific tuning. Using Yamaha’s exclusive Controlled Filling (CF) aluminum die-casting technology, this frame features the thinnest sections ever on a Yamaha die-cast frame.
  • Lightweight SpinForged wheels
    • The lightest design ever fitted to a production Yamaha –  the SpinForged wheels on the Tracer 9 GT reduce unsprung weight for superior suspension feel and performance. These ultra-light wheels also contribute towards the Tracer 9 GT’s exceptional fuel efficiency.
  • Adjustable ergonomics
    • The Tracer 9’s ergonomics can be easily adjusted to suit different physiques and riding styles. Changes to the ergonomics can be made by adjusting the footrests by 15 mm up or down, and the handlebar position can also be moved forwards by 9 mm and upwards by 4 mm by reversing the direction of the handlebar clamps, giving a total of eight different riding positions.
  • 2-position adjustable seat
    • The Tracer 9’s handlebar/footrest/seat layout has been carefully developed to give a sporty yet comfortable riding position that gives you controllability with comfort. A two-position seat enables tool-free height adjustment, enabling you to customize the ergonomics to match your riding style and physique.

DETAILS

6-Axis IMU plus lean-sensitive rider aids
The Tracer 9 is equipped with some of the most advanced electronic rider aids in the class, giving you added confidence and precise controllability in different weather and road surface conditions. Developed from the R1M, the compact 6-axis IMU governs a lean-sensitive, three-mode Traction Control System (TCS), as well as a Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel LIFt Control System (LIF) and Brake Control system (BC).

Hard side cases
Hard side cases are fitted as standard equipment (each case can accommodate a full-face helmet). For a natural riding feeling, the cases are mounted to a fully floating carrier system. An optional top case can also be fitted.

LED cornering lights
Next-generation LED cornering lights highlight the apex of every bend to help guide you in the darkest nights. Brightness is automatically increased as the banking angle gets steeper, giving a clear field of vision that allows for sporty riding long into the night. The system operates when the bike is leaned at more than 7 degrees at 5 km/h and above.

Full LED lighting
Compact LED lighting is featured throughout the Tracer 9. Separate high/low mono-focus headlights give the bike a dynamic new look and provide superior illumination in any situation. LED flashers reinforce the bike’s premium status, and a signature taillight enhances the bike’s agile looks and sporty feel.
