Nicolò Bulega and the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team’s Panigale V4R have written another chapter in Superbike history by securing a hat-trick that will be remembered for a long time to come. The Italian rider set new records at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli during a perfect weekend.
Iker Lecuona tried to challenge his team-mate in the early laps, then did well to secure second place with a comfortable margin (+8.915 seconds) over Montella (Ducati).
Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11)
“It’s a huge thrill for me. We’ve won in Italy at Misano. An Italian rider, with an Italian team on an Italian bike. It’s hard to ask for more. I’d like to thank the lads in my team, Aruba and Ducati. Tonight we’ll celebrate, and from tomorrow we’ll focus on Donington.”
Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7)
“I can’t hide the fact that I’m a bit frustrated. Compared to previous rounds, the gap to Nicolò was difficult to close this time. We’ll work to try and be more competitive and aim for our first win in the next round.”
