Pirelli focuses on the SCX rear tyre in return to Balaton

Compared with 2025, the year the Hungarian circuit made its WorldSBK debut, the supersoft joins the soft option. The SCQ is confirmed as the Superpole tyre
·  Hungarian debut for the SCX. The FIM Superbike World Championship returns to Balaton Park for the second time. In 2025, with no previous references, Pirelli adopted a conservative approach, selecting two soft compounds for the long races: the range SC0 and the development E0125, which later became the current 2026 range SC0. This year, thanks to the data collected, Pirelli has decided to bring tyres that are one step softer, also making the supersoft SCX available to WorldSBK riders.

·  Extrasoft SCQ for Superpole. While for the long races riders will be able to rely on the rear range supersoft SCX and the soft SC0, for free practice, qualifying and the Superpole Race they will find, as last year and for the first time this season, the extrasoft SCQ—the softest rear compound in the range. At the front, soft SC1 and medium SC2 will be available, while in the event of a wet race the allocation is completed by DIABLO Wet intermediate tyres and DIABLO Rain wet tyres.

·  The other categories. For the fourth WorldSSP round, the range solutions are confirmed: SC1 and SC2 at the front and SCX and SC0 at the rear, as in 2025. Also on track over the Hungarian weekend are the protagonists of the women’s world championship WorldWCR, a series that uses Pirelli DIABLO Superbike tyres in SC1 compound on both axles.

Supersoft SCX under scrutiny at Balaton Park

“The data collected last year showed that Balaton Park is a track with low tyre-wear values. For this reason, we decided to make the softest range solutions available to WorldSBK riders, including the supersoft SCX in the allocation, which was not present last year. Riders will, in any case, also be able to count on the soft SC0 which, in 2025 as the E0125 specification, was the race reference. This could be a valid alternative, especially in the event of lower temperatures.
For the first time this season, the extrasoft SCQ returns to centre stage for qualifying and the Superpole Race. Last year this solution was used only in qualifying due to unfavourable weather conditions in the Superpole Race, so it will be interesting to see whether anyone uses it in the short race this year.
All solutions, as well as the soft SC1 and medium SC2 fronts, are range products—i.e. they can be purchased by any motorcyclist worldwide and used both in competitions at any level and for track days”.
