THE 2001 SUZUKI STREET LINE: VALUE & VERSATILITY

Suzuki's street bike line has a solid reputation as having some of the best values in the industry. Versatile machines that have broad appeal, they offer the right combination of price, performance and style. For 2001, all three models have received significant updates using input from Suzuki owners and dealers. You'll still find the performance these models are known for, but with refined styling and new features.

NEW & UPDATED MODELS: - BANDIT GSF1200 & GSF1200S

If there was ever a big-bore street machine that had a reputation for doing everything well, it would have to be the Suzuki Bandit 1200S - and now for 2001 that reputation will expand to include the naked version Bandit 1200. The Bandit 1200S has been restyled with an all-new aerodynamic fairing, bright projector-beam headlights, taller windscreen, new seat and tail-section, new lightweight instruments, plus several other functional improvements. Both models are powered by a 1157cc air/oil-cooled four-cylinder engine that pumps out even more low rpm torque thanks to revised cam-timing and new carburetors with a throttle position sensor. Rounding out the engine improvements is a higher capacity clutch and a larger oil-cooler.

Both machines have an upgraded chassis with reduced rake and trail settings and a slightly shorter wheelbase for better overall handling. Supporting it all is a preload-adjustable, cartridge-style fork with increased spring rate, and a new preload and rebound damping adjustable shock absorber. Adding to the ride and handling are new radial tires, plus 310mm front disc brakes with new six-piston calipers.

But as with all great designs, it's the little things that tie it all together. The new Bandits have that type of attention-to-detail with new features like external tie-down hooks, increased fuel capacity, a larger passenger grab-handle, and increased storage area. Even the centerstand has been redesigned to require less effort.

All this performance and practicality comes at a incredible price of under $7500, making the Bandits the absolute bargains in their class.
