2011 Triumph Bonneville SE

Bonneville SE. Extra pure Bonneville.

Take a Bonneville. Spec up. Enjoy. The most famous name in motorcycling. A legend. Over 50 years of engineering excellence. A thoroughly modern interpretation of the authentic ‘proper’ motorcycle. This iconic symbol of rebellion and independence is even more appealing thanks to its modern specification, low seat, fuel-injected 865cc engine and lightweight 17 inch alloys for even sharper handling. SE adds that little bit more: matching tacho and speedo, polished engine covers and traditional chrome tank badge. Optional two tone paint scheme with hand painted pinstripe.

Great in the city. Great on the open road. With its low seat height, easy-going 865cc parallel twin and lightweight alloy wheels, the Bonneville SE takes the legend to an all new audience.

Short fenders front and rear, upswept megaphone pipes and cast alloy wheels give the Bonneville SE a retro ‘70s look, but thumb the starter and you’ve got a thoroughly modern interpretation of the classic British twin at your disposal.

Good design and quality engineering never go out of fashion. Neither does the Bonneville SE.

Triumph Bonneville/Bonneville SE

Named after the venue where Triumph broke numerous land speed records in the 1950s,
the Bonneville is, for many people, the most iconic Triumph of all time.

Originally introduced in 1959, the Bonneville was the sporting bike of the day and the bike to beat
in production-based racing right through to the 1970s.

Today’s Bonneville takes the style and spirit of those famous bikes of the 1970s and blends in
thoroughly modern engineering to create a classic British twin for the 21st century rider.

The air-cooled 865cc power plant is a modern design but styled to look like a authentic parallel-twin
of the 1960s, right down to the ecarburettorsf that hide the modern fuel injectors and dummy
pushrod tubes.

But beneath the retro looks lies a very current and usable motorcycle that appeals to new and
experienced motorcyclists alike. Thumb the electric starter and todayfs Bonneville comes to life
instantly and with the distinctive tone that only a parallel twin can deliver. A healthy 68PS and 68Nm
of torque give the modern day Bonneville peppy performance that is at home both in the city and on
the open road.

Lightweight 17h cast alloy wheels make the Bonneville agile and easy to ride, while the low 740mm
seat height makes the accessible to motorcyclists of all ages and experience, while short mudguards
and stylish chrome megaphone silencers complete the 1970s look.

The higher specification Bonneville SE adds a tachometer, chromed tank badge and brushed alloy
engine cases for added practicality and even more classic look.

Colour options reflect the traditional styling of the Bonneville. The standard model comes with metallic
paint as standard for 2011, with Phantom Black and Crystal White options, while the Bonneville SE
is available in Phantom Black or two dual colour alternatives: Intense Orange with Phantom Black or
Pacific Blue with Fusion White.

A wide range of official Triumph accessories are also available for the Bonneville range, including
alternative seats, practical screens and leather panniers.

2011 Triumph Bonneville SE Features and Benefits

The Bonneville SE takes all the qualities of the standard Bonneville and adds a higher specification for the more discerning rider.
Polished aluminium engine covers and chromed tank badges give the Bonneville SE that premium look while the addition of a tachometer lets the rider match perfectly the engine speed to gear selection. There’s also the choice of traditional two-tone paintwork options with a hand painted pinstriping, for riders who want maximum retro from their steed.

Otherwise the Bonneville SE retains all that is good about the standard model, with its 17” alloy wheels, megaphone silencers, short mudguards and low seat for maximum accessibility and minimum fuss.

Engine

The Bonneville SE features a fuel injection system designed for clean running and to meet Euro 3 legislation. The retro styling remains uncompromised though, as the fuel injectors are cleverly concealed by throttle bodies designed to look like traditional carbs. Polished alloy side covers come as standard on the Bonneville SE.

Wheels

The Bonneville SE sports stylish lightweight 17” cast alloy wheels, creating an all new look and improving the bike’s agility and low speed handling characteristics.

Exhaust System

Stylish megaphone exhausts mimic those sported by the raciest bikes in the 1970s.

Brakes

The braking set-up of single front 310mm disc and 255mm rear, both worked on by powerful twin-piston calipers, offers sensitivity, control and ample stopping power.

Seat

The Bonneville SE’s comfortable seat is 35mm/1.3in lower than on previous models. Combined with a revised riding position, the Bonneville SE provides a more relaxed and accessible ride than ever before.

Chassis

The Bonneville SE’s low seat height (740mm/29.1inches) and low centre of gravity make it a manageable motorcycle that all riders – ranging from those with little experience to those with lots – can appreciate. The tubular steel double cradle frame is incredibly strong while offering light and precise handling.
