Harley-Davidson Battle of the Kings goes global – 300 dealerships, 30 countries

Following the success of the 2018 Battle of the Kings custom competition as the largest international dealer-led build-off to date, the scene is set for an even bigger battle in 2019 as American Harley-Davidson® dealerships join the fray.

For the 2018 edition, over 300 Harley-Davidson dealerships from 30 countries showcased their customisation skills on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles from its Dark Custom™ range, with ‘The Prince’ built by Thai dealer, Bangkok Harley-Davidson® , crowned the eventual winner at EICMA international motorcycle show in Milan.

‘The Prince’ – the first Softail Street Bob to take the crown, having been added to the list of potential competition entries in 2018 – beat off stiff competition from fellow finalists Adelaide Harley-Davidson, with their Roadster-based “Back to the Track”, and Bologna Harley-Davidson’s “Farm Machine”.

For 2019, the choice of base model is even larger with Custom Kings in each dealership having their pick of any motorcycle from the Street, Sportster, Softail and Touring ranges. The customisation budget for this year’s build-off has also changed with the permitted cost of the build based on a percentage of the value of the base motorcycle used.

With the rules now set, authorised Harley-Davidson dealerships from across the globe are lining up to regain the coveted crown from this year’s winner. All machines that are built for the competition are made available for sale, so if you’re ready to commission your own unique custom, want the opportunity to own a championship-winning bike and have an idea that could influence one of the 2019 entries, get in touch with your local dealer.

Your local Custom King can outline the competition rules, discuss ideas with you and help you to create the design or turn your custom vision into reality.
