Latest EU5+ 690cc four-stroke CP2 engine
Updated for the latest generation of the Ténéré 700, the critically acclaimed CP2 engine benefits from the adoption of the YCC-T electronic throttle, which facilitates a host of new features and an improved torque curve. A new air intake and a smoother gearshift are among the updates, while externally a new clutch cover gives you more legroom in both the seated and standing position.

Rally-bred headlight and body design
The latest headlight and body design pays homage to Yamaha’s rallying heritage. The silhouette is classic Ténéré, being high and vertical at the front, while low and light at the rear. Each panel has been carefully designed to keep weight to a minimum, while the iconic quad LED headlamp is designed to offer an aggressive look and strong illumination when riding at night.

Slim and compact body, with flat seat and ergonomic fuel tank
The Ténéré 700 is designed to offer excellent agility when riding off-road. For the latest generation, the fuel tank has been moved forward and the fuel cap sits lower for improved weight distribution, while the shape is narrower to offer improved knee grip for maximum control on all kinds of surfaces. This is complemented by a flat rally-style seat which is narrow and makes it easy to shift your weight around.

Double cradle tubular steel frame.
Well proven in Yamaha’s rally raid programme, the tough double cradle tubular steel frame combines strength with light weight. The combination of a short wheelbase and narrow gait makes for an agile motorcycle with plenty of space for you to move around, while the tall suspension gives 240mm of ground clearance for tackling tough terrain.

Fully adjustable suspension
Giving the Ténéré 700 its tall stance and 240mm ground clearance is high-quality, long-travel suspension. The 43mm flex-resistant front forks are fully adjustable, while the rear benefits from a fully adjustable rear shock absorber with a piggyback reservoir designed to work in perfect harmony with the front suspension and enhance performance in challenging off-road conditions. Note: The lowered version adopts specific front and rear suspension systems with different specifications.

Electronic throttle and ride modes
The YCC-T facilitates two ride modes, giving you the opportunity to choose the throttle map that best suits your riding style. Sport gives the sharpest throttle response, while Explorer delivers a smoother power delivery.

Switchable ABS and TCS at the press of a button
Giving you the ultimate control when riding off road, both the ABS and traction control can be fully switched off at the press of a button. The ABS has three settings, which can be selected through a dedicated button placed in the cockpit or using the new switchgear via the TFT dashboard menu. As well as fully on and fully off, ABS can be disabled only on the rear wheel, allowing you to utilize the rear brake and throttle to steer on loose surfaces, while still enjoying the benefits of ABS at the front.

6.3-inch colour TFT with connectivity and navigation
The large 6.3” colour TFT display emphasizes the Ténéré 700’s premium design and has two distinct theme options, allowing you to focus on the information in a way that best suits your riding, while smartphone connectivity unlocks a host of features including the integration of phone calls, music and turn-by-turn navigation through the MyRide app. A USB-C charging port is also standard equipment.

21-inch/18-inch spoke wheels.
Just like Yamaha’s factory rally race bikes, the Ténéré 700 is equipped with a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, combining low weight with immense strength and outstanding shock resistance. For high levels of traction and durability on the dirt and street, these spoked aluminium wheels are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres.

Off-road focused components
Details matter on the Ténéré 700. As the most rugged adventure bike you can buy, its components are designed to improve usability off road without compromising performance on the asphalt. Large footpegs and a one-piece rally-style seat aid rider control on loose surfaces, while the rugged handguards and engine guard provide additional protection when faced with the inevitable knocks and bumps.

Intuitive switchgear
Ergonomically designed for easy operation and featuring a five-direction joystick, the switchgear offers more functionality than that found on the previous generation Ténéré 700, making scrolling through the many functions easy and intuitive. The turn signals also feature additional functionality, with three-flash signalling or continuous indicators with auto-cancelling incorporated into the left-hand switchgear.

Factory lowered version available
Ténéré 700 comes with a more accessible lower seat height version, available straight from the factory. With 20mm less wheel travel front and rear, as well as a shortened kick stand, this version has a 860mm seat height and retains a commanding seating position, while opening up the Ténéré experience for those who prefer a lower seat height. This version features front forks with compression and rebound damping adjustment (preload adjustment not included), along with a fully adjustable rear shock and linkage configuration.

2027 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Totalmotorcycle.com Features and Benefits

Engine

  • Compact CP2 Engine
    • Developed from the MT-07 naked sportbike, the Ténéré 700 engine combines exceptional reliability and exciting power delivery in a compact, fuel-efficient package. With an overall size similar to some single-cylinder motors, the 689 cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, DOHC inline twin gives the Ténéré 700 exceptional handing, while the counterbalanced two-cylinder design provides smooth, long-legged power ideal for long days in the saddle.
  • Crossplane Crankshaft Concept
    • The two-cylinder engine features Yamaha’s Crossplane Crankshaft Concept 270-degree crank – which traces its lineage directly to the Dakar-dominating XTZ750 race bikes – to provide linear torque development in response to the rider’s throttle input. The CP2 engine is also light, slim and compact, and offers an excellent level of rider/machine communication.
  • Offset Cylinder Design
    • The CP2 engine shifts its cylinder bores slightly forward, towards the exhaust side. This offset reduces piston-to-cylinder-wall friction for enhanced reliability, more power and improved fuel economy.
  • Compact Stacked Transmission
    • The six-speed transmission ‘stacks’ the gearbox and the crankshaft in a triangular layout to keep the overall engine size shorter front-to-back, which optimizes engine placement in the frame for outstanding weight balance. The transmission ratios are designed to bring out the best of the low- to mid-speed torque and excellent response characteristics, letting the rider focus on the road or trail ahead.
  • Refined Fuel Injection
    • Electronic fuel injection settings have been calibrated to deliver a balance between rapid response – perfect for technical riding off-road – and smooth, linear delivery ideally matched for flowing progress when back on pavement. Boasting excellent fuel economy, robust acceleration, and precise controllability on- and off-road, the result is an extremely versatile powerplant.

Chassis/Suspension

  • Lightweight Double Cradle Frame Design
    • A lightweight, high-strength tubular steel frame provides a tuned rigidity balance for nimble, responsive handling with the strength and durability needed to tackle the harshest terrain with confidence. The chassis utilizes a short 1,595 mm (62.6 in.) wheelbase for agility and boasts 240 mm (9.5 in.) of ground clearance to tackle whatever the trail throws at you.
  • Balanced Ergonomics
    • The ability to shift body weight forward and rearward to suit the terrain is crucial in off-road riding situations, so the Ténéré 700 features a flat seat and slim body that allows maximum rider agility. The narrow body and fuel tank also enable the rider to grip the tank whether sitting or standing, giving added confidence whether you’re riding on dirt or asphalt.
  • Adventure-Ready Suspension
    • Aggressive dirt riding requires capable suspension, so the Ténéré 700 utilizes a long-travel 43 mm inverted fork with 210 mm (8.3 in.) of travel. The beefy inverted layout is highly resistant to flex to maintain precise steering and suspension action, and the fork is fully adjustable to match changing road and trail conditions. The linkage-type rear shock is similarly outfitted for adventure, with 200 mm (7.9 in.) of travel, and a remote preload adjuster to easily fine tune for changing loads or riding conditions.
  • Dirt-Ready Braking With Switchable ABS
    • The Ténéré 700 features a pair of wave-style 282 mm front discs, with rear braking handled by a 245 mm wave-style rotor, for powerful deceleration that isn’t afraid of dirt and dust. ABS comes standard to boost rider confidence and prevent wheel lock-ups in reduced-traction conditions, but the Ténéré 700 gives riders the option of temporarily disabling the system for full manual control -ideal for the unique demands of challenging off-road conditions.
  • Durable Spoked Wheels
    • The Ténéré 700 flaunts its serious off-road intentions with tough spoked wheels mounting 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tires, ideal for both on- and off-road riding. Strong and lightweight, these wheels give riders a range of tire choices, from aggressive pure enduro tires to versatile dual-sport options.

Additional Features

  • Rally-bred LED Lighting
    • Echoing the focused, purposeful design of rally-built “works” racing machines, the Ténéré 700 utilizes a clear headlight nacelle with quad LED headlights. This vertically-stacked two-plus-two headlight design provides aggressive looks and excellent visibility, while the LEDs themselves are bright, long-lasting and resistant to shock and vibration.
  • Protective, Versatile Cockpit
    • The rally-inspired upper fairing and standard handguards ensure wind and weather protection ideal for long riding days. The taper aluminum handlebar is positioned for a relaxed riding position when sitting or standing on the pegs. The cockpit is also designed to accommodate additional navigation devices, such as a GPS or rally road book.
  • Rally-Style Instruments
    • The lightweight instrument panel displays a wide range of information that can be absorbed without having to take your eyes off the road or track. The multi-function LCD display features gear position, fuel level, two trip meters and estimated fuel range, as well as average and instant fuel consumption and more.
  • Exceptional Range
    • Thanks to the fuel-efficient engine and compact 16-litre fuel tank, the Ténéré 700 is ready for the Next Horizon, with a fuel range capable of 350 km per fill-up.
  • YCC-T electronic throttle and ride modes
