Pirelli tackles Aragón with the most popular development rear tyres

In view of the aggressive asphalt at Aragón, Pirelli has chosen the E0126 supersoft instead of the SCQ for qualifying and the Superpole Race and two softs for long races: the standard SC0 and the E0125 development specification.
· The FIM Superbike World Championship moves to Spain for the Aragón Round, scheduled from 26 to 28 September at the MotorLand Aragón circuit. The asphalt of the track, renewed in 2024, showed to be quite aggressive towards the tyres last year. For this reason, Pirelli relies on two soft compound rear solutions, which offer good wear resistance: the standard SC0 and its E0125 development evolution, which maintains the same compound but has an innovative casing designed to offer greater stability and consistency of performance. The latter has already been used at the rounds held in Portimão and Balaton Park.

· In response to the severity of the revamped Aragón asphalt, the rear solution reserved for practice, qualifying and the Superpole Race is also different from usual: instead of the extrasoft SCQ, the development supersoft E0126 will be offered, which is already well known by the WorldSBK riders, who have used it in five rounds this year.

· For the WorldSSP class, the rear allocation is oriented towards more wear-resistant solutions. The soft SC0 is the softest option available, flanked by the medium SC1. For the front, in both classes, the SC1 and SC2 options are available.

Aragón perfect for putting new development solutions to the test

“The Aragón circuit is among the most aggressive on the tyres, particularly after the resurfacing carried out in 2024, so, as was the case last year, we propose an allocation geared towards greater protection from wear. Thanks to the introduction of the new casing, which has allowed a major step forward in terms of performance and consistency across all the specifications to which it has been applied, we are able to offer WorldSBK riders options that are valid in terms of both pure performance and consistency, even on a tough track like Motorland Aragón. The extrasoft SCQ, usually the reference rear option for qualifying and the Superpole Race, will be replaced here by the supersoft E0126, a development version of the standard SCX. This is not a totally new use for this specification, at Misano and Magny-Cours it has already been the most chosen for the Superpole Race as well. For Race 1 and Race 2, the riders will be able to choose between two soft solutions: the standard SC0 and its development evolution E0125. Beyond the usage statistics, what strikes us most today is the extremely positive feedback received from the riders: both development solutions are so appreciated that they become, in the rounds in which they are present, the immediate choice from the first sessions of the weekend. The Aragón circuit, with its severe asphalt, will therefore be an excellent testing ground for the new development solutions and will allow us to gather further information and data on their behaviour and effectiveness.”
