Woodcliff Lake, NJ – April 20, 2026 . . . 2025 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Champions, Orange Cat Racing, are off to an excellent start in the 2026 QUAD LOCK Superbike Series with two podium finishes in the first two races of the season thanks to the efforts of Sean Dylan Kelly onboard his No. 40 BMW M 1000 RR. Kelly joined Jayson Uribe and OrangeCat Racing prior to the 2026 MotoAmerica Season, which also marks 50 years of Superbike racing in the US. Jayson Uribe, was not 100% for the weekend, following a crash during practice, but still captured 5th place finish in race one and important season points in both races.
Race 1
The first race of the Superbike season kicked off on Saturday, April 18th at the 2.55-mile Road Atlanta road course. Sean Dylan Kelly (No. 40) and Jayson Uribe (No. 36) started the 19-Lap race in third and ninth positions, respectively. An incident on lap 6 caused the race to be red flagged, leading to a restart and a 12-lap sprint race after the stop. Kelly gave chase from fourth position and Uribe had worked himself up to sixth following the restart. With five laps to go, Kelly took over third while Uribe took over fifth on the final lap.
Race 2
On Sunday, Superbike race two saw Sean Dylan Kelly start again from the third position with teammate Jayson Uribe starting from ninth. Both OrangeCat riders lost a spot initially at the start but battled their way back and regained their starting positions by lap three. After nineteen laps, the checkered flag waved for Kelly in third and Uribe in ninth, just as they had started. An excellent result not only for Kelly but for Uribe as well, who’s injured wrist added an additional challenge to his well-earned points.
After the first round, Sean Dylan Kelly holds second position in MotoAmerica QUAD LOCK Superbike Championship points with Jayson Uribe in eighth.
Sean Dylan Kelly (No. 40 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “I had a great first weekend with OrangeCat Racing, leaving with two podiums. Had a little trouble at the end of race two and we’ve got some work to do, but pretty happy with such a great start overall. Thank you to the team for believing in me, and thank you to BMW Motorrad Motorsport for supporting me. Let’s keep it going.”
Jayson Uribe (No. 36 OrangeCat Racing BMW M 1000 RR): “I’m bummed about starting the weekend with an injured wrist from a crash on Friday, but gave it everything I could and left the weekend excited and ready to recover for the next race. Huge thanks to all of OrangeCat Racing, BMW Motorrad Motorsport, and all our partners for keeping me safe out there. I couldn’t do it without you.”
The next round, MotoAmerica Superbikes at Alabama, takes place at Barber Motorsport Park on May 15-17.
