Michelin Power Race

• Michelin Power Race

This is the newest tire from Michelin. Released in January 2005, the POWER RACE is available in several configurations including DUAL COMPOUND designs. The POWER RACE features compounds and construction EXACTLY the same as those used in MotoGP tires.

The first dual compound performance tire, available in Soft, Medium-soft, and Medium compounds. The Soft features soft compound overall, the Medium-soft features intermediate compound in the center and super-soft on the shoulders, and the Medium features intermediate compound in the center and soft compound on the shoulders. The tire carcass is made up of two angled polyester plies and a zero-degree aramid belt. The semi-slick tread pattern maximizes the contact patch and increases tread stability. The tread grooves evacuate water from the contact patch in damp track conditions and the rounder front profile and sharper rear profile make for improved front end feedback under braking while also minimizing the need to adjust suspension settings.

The first two-compound racing tyre homologated for the road

• Two different rubber compounds on the tyre shoulders and in the center of the tread.
• Incredible grip at full lean, with outstanding braking control and accelerationTwo different compounds on the shoulder and the center of the tyre, optimized for cornering grip, acceleration and breaking.

For more information on Michelin Power Race tire selection, click on the Power Race Tyre Guide

TECHNICAL

- Two-Compound Technology targets the needs of hypersport riders, who demand grip and control from the rear tyre, and precise steering and feedback from the front.

- Power Race offers an amazing array of choices: 3 front tyres, 3 rear tyres and 7 different compounds.

- Two-Compound Technology helped Valentino Rossi win the 2004 MotoGP World Championship
