Michelin Power Race
Michelin Power Race
This is the newest tire from Michelin. Released in January 2005, the POWER RACE is available in several configurations including DUAL COMPOUND designs. The POWER RACE features compounds and construction EXACTLY the same as those used in MotoGP tires.
The first dual compound performance tire, available in Soft, Medium-soft, and Medium compounds. The Soft features soft compound overall, the Medium-soft features intermediate compound in the center and super-soft on the shoulders, and the Medium features intermediate compound in the center and soft compound on the shoulders. The tire carcass is made up of two angled polyester plies and a zero-degree aramid belt. The semi-slick tread pattern maximizes the contact patch and increases tread stability. The tread grooves evacuate water from the contact patch in damp track conditions and the rounder front profile and sharper rear profile make for improved front end feedback under braking while also minimizing the need to adjust suspension settings.
