2012 Triumph Scrambler Tony Hawk Special
We just finished up the Tony Hawk Triumph Scrambler for the LA Stand up for Skateparks event on Sunday. Check the website to place a bid on the bike or to get tickets to attend the event. Black Keys are playing, great food and a huge half pipe, sounds like a good Sunday to us.
Tony Hawk and the team at RSD have joined forces once again, to build a unique custom two wheeled machine for Stand Up for Skateparks. Triumph provided a modern day version of their legendary 2011 Scrambler 900 for the build. We have re-worked this machine to feature a number of upgrades to boost the performance and give the machine a unique aesthetic, worthy of the Hawk brand.
Dubya USA then wrapped in Dunlop Trailmax TR91 tires. Stopping power has
been increased with the addition of an oversized floating front brake rotor.
Rear shocks have been replaced with custom-built Progressive Suspension 970
series reservoir shocks, giving a little extra ground clearance and improved
adjustable dampening. The front forks have also been re-sprung and re-valved
by Progressive, for an improved ride.
The Speed Merchant supplied a cast aluminum ribbed stator cover and front
sprocket guard. Chain has been replaced with a gold series D.I.D. O-ring version,
coupled with a hard anodized aluminum Renthal rear and British Customs solid
steel front sprockets.
Arrow 2-into-1 stainless steel exhaust, aluminum skid plate and floating rotor
were supplied by Triumph Motorcycles America. British Customs supplied a K&N
air filter kit, aluminum battery box, air injection plugs, and rectifier relocator.
The rear fender has been trimmed and shaved by RSD and stock turn signals
and brake lights have been dumped for sleeker units. We used our own RSD side
mount license plate bracket and LED tail light then fabricated a rear grab
bar that doubles as a mount for the rear turn signals. The front turn signal
mount is another hand crafted unit custom made by RSD just for this project.
We used an OEM Triumph Thruxton Seat and recovered it with RSD spec leather,
featuring a hand-tooled hawk/triumph logo on the rear and RSD logo badges
stitched into each side.
All bodywork, including the headlight bucket, have been painted by Airtrix
with a two tone, satin titanium color combination and red pin-striping. The
custom paint job features a Hawk logo on each side of the gas tank and flavorful
Roland Sands Design lettering on the fenders. The tank is topped off with
an RSD gas cap for good measure.
The stock 7/8" handlebars were replaced with oversized Renthal Fatbars
and are attached with modified RSD risers. Adjustable-reach billet Pazzo brake
and clutch levers allow on-the-fly adjustment. One-off Black Ops RSD tracker
grips, wrapped in Renthal rubber, connect the rider to the machine with style
and performance in mind.

A sense of adventure from back in the day. A modern interpretation of a timeless

It was a sold out crowd of celebrities, athletes, fans and friends at the 8th annual Tony Hawk: DaGeDar Presents Stand Up For Skateparks benefit hosted by the Tony Hawk Foundation yesterday in Beverly Hills. Tony and top skaters and BMX athletes, including Shaun White, Mat Hoffman, Bucky Lasek, Mitchie Brusco, and Lincoln Ueda perform a Vert Demo on Hawks personal ramp. The bike auctioned off for $32,500 while the entire benefit raised $755,000 for the Tony Hawk Foundation's mission to build free public skateparks in low-income areas. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
