Thunderbird Sport

With the enduring popularity of the original Thunderbird showing no signs of slowing down, it's no surprise that riders looking for a more sports-focused retro-triple have been rewarded with the re-introduction of the Thunderbird Sports. If ever a bike was 'back by popular demand' - this is it.
Originally inspired by the famous X-75 Hurricane version of Triumph's first three-cylinder model in the late sixties, the Thunderbird Sport marries the classic flat-track look with a more road-oriented focus designed to allow sports riders to get the best from the T'Bird's undoubted abilities.
The monoshock chassis boasts sports suspension, fully adjustable for preload and both compression and rebound damping front and rear. This comprehensive suspension package, finely adjustable to the specific riding requirements of each owner, is only part of the transformation of the Thunderbird from long-legged roadster to snarling sportster.
The engine too, has been honed, to produce more power and torque across the rev range, squeezing even more usable power from an engine that was never short of urge to begin with. And with a throaty bark from the twin reverse-cone megaphone silencers, you can tell this machine means business.
The riding position has been altered to allow the rider to shift more weight over the front of the machine. The flat handlebars and re-positioned footrests offer a more sportier set-up but it still remains comfortable enough for the T'Bird Sport to offer all-important everyday usability. Braking performance has been enhanced too with twin discs up front matched to a single rear.
In taking the Thunderbird Sport into the realms of the more sporting rider, Triumph has been careful not to compromise the adaptability of this resoundingly versatile machine. The Thunderbird Sport treads the fine line between a harder-edged sports machine and a ride that thrills but never tires.
