SUZUKI ECSTAR WARMING UP AT BANGKOK EVENT

Team Suzuki Press Office – October 3.

The SUZUKI ECSTAR team landed in Bangkok yesterday to face the first ever Thai Grand Prix that will be held this weekend at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram. This event has attracted an unusual amount of expectation, especially following the first visit that MotoGP paid in February to complete the first test on Thai asphalt. Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins, invited by Thai Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd, celebrated a new experience with Suzuki fans in the Asian country.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Masayoshi Ito, Representative Director of Thai Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. “I hope everyone could enjoy this meeting because you are all a special part of the Suzuki family,” explained Mr. Ito, who added; “To have a chance to get close to our special guests, Team Suzuki Ecstar riders Andrea Iannone and Alex Rins, before they return to the world premiere MotoGP, which takes place on the 5th to the 7th of October 2018 at the Chang International Circuit at Buriram.” Mr. Ito also thanked all who attended the event.

Iannone, who participated in a GoKart race with 10 dealers, unleashed the madness in front of about 300 people, not only competing in the karting race but also practising as Suzuki’s ambassador in the delivery of the trophies and signing Suzuki promotional materials for more than 200 people.

“It has been as always a pleasant experience to come to Thailand. This year is the second time we visited the country and the truth is that the welcome has been wonderful by the fans of Suzuki and MotoGP. We hope to be able to offer you a good show next Sunday, especially because it will be the first time we will run in Buriram,” commented the Italian rider from Vasto.

Rins, who had some problems with flights to get to Thailand, joined the party at the end to put the icing on the cake to a meeting that served as a perfect warm-up for a Grand Prix that promises to be full of excitement. “It was a shame not to be able to participate from the beginning, but in the end, I was able to arrive and enjoy a little with all the fans. Hopefully, we can have a great race at the Chang International Circuit. In the pre-season tests here I found very good feelings,” added the Spaniard.
