THE X-BOW BATTLE STARTS THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON!

The seventh and eight round this weekend marks the beginning of the second half of the X-BOW BATTLE for each of the contesting classes (Rookies Challenge, Elite, and GT4), while it will be the fourth round of the Endurance contest. Despite the fact that it is high season for summer vacation, organizers confirm there is a full house of nominations for this round at the Slovakiaring which is located close to Bratislava. Some 20 drivers are down to race in the Rookies class, 19 Elite-class drivers and no less than 15 GT4 contestants will guarantee spectacular action in seven different races. The Slovakiaring is also open all day Thursday for a Track Day, which will also see some diligent and very intensive training. While Cedric Freiburghaus must be considered favorite in the Rookies Challenge on the challenging Slovakian circuit, the race for points in the overall classes is set to be extremely competitive. Youngster Eike Angermayr comes to race in the Elite class already with experience competing at the Slovakiaring because he will be here this weekend to race in the GT4 European Series. Long-time BATTLE specialist Artur Chwist of Poland is at the start, and he is a driver who has already been on the podium at the Slovakiaring several times. There is a similar situation in the GT4 class. Achim Mörtl currently leads the standings, but Sascha Halek, Steffen Faas and Sebastian Daum are in pursuit of the leader. Mörtl can also draw on experience from the GT4 European Series race weekend at the Slovakiaring, as can Laura Kraihamer and Eike Angermayr, who will contest both the Elite and GT4 classes.
