ALEX RINS BLOG – January 2018

Team Suzuki Press Office – January 1.

Team SUZUKI ECSTAR MotoGP™ Rookie Alex Rins overcame many injuries in 2017 to finish within striking distance of a podium on his return to the circuit. In 2018, he aims for much more, as he explains in the latest WINTER Issue of Team Suzuki Racing Magazine.

“It was not an easy year for me. Nothing simple, but despite having very delicate moments, hard, difficult to digest, especially when you don’t know very well what is happening and you see that once again after another obstacle arises. And yet, in a single year, I have learned many things.

“The season started badly with an early injury on the second day that I got on the GSX-RR in Valencia. It hurt a lot, maybe more to know that the pre-season would not be ideal. I spent several months with pain after fracturing several vertebrae and that prevented me from reaching the beginning of the year in the best conditions.

“Then, before the race in Argentina, I hurt myself again, I broke the talus. And I relapsed in getting to know the bike better and get into MotoGP with more strength. And, to finish, complicating things further, the accident in Austin, Texas ended up demolishing a season that was more than a dream.
